A New Single And Video From Sid's Balcony
An absolutely refreshing and quirky single release from Sid's Balcony touches on a late 90s underground all pop vibe but brings it into a more current Indie pop platform by utilizing colorful sense and vocal hooks that come through softer but with character.
"Getting Down" definitely brings on a pretty hefty Groove and gets you shaking your ass in your seat in no time flat with a funky bass line and a four on the floor beat that becomes quickly infectious to say the least.
This is a really cool track because of the barrage of influences that come into play throughout the song's course and how the artist utilizes that to bring his own particular energy and drive to the song.
The release comes with its own atmosphere and attitude that both play a major factor in how everything is portrayed and you get a little more of that with the accompanying music video that came with the release itself.
The video features a performance of a man in a suit and a painted face that slowly lets the song fill them up till he gets up and starts dancing.
And that's how the song is. It doesn't just hit you right from the get-go it kind of creeps up on you before you know it you're grooving.
I like songs like this a little better because they're more memorable and in a lot of ways and this one in particular has a way of bouncing around in your brain for hours after it's ended.
You find yourself just humming hooks and melodies all day long and you are never really satiated until you actually play the song again. I think that's what singles are all about really.
You can definitely tell that this artist has a major love for his craft and that's evident right from the start, but by the end it's right in your face.
You can feel that heart and that love for the music, the notes and the grooves.
The single has heart and soul but it's done in a unique way and that's kind of what makes it special.
Is it Indie pop? Yes it certainly is but it's a number of other things as well and the way it incorporates the fusion of those genres is its genius.
So make sure when you check this song out you do so by watching the video because it's one of the best ways to introduce yourself to it.
If you listen to this through headphones you'll never Escape because that bass line and that beat stick with you.
