Gillsaw Drops The Fog Watch EP
BIO: After years of drumming in a number of bands, Jole Gills felt a need to explore sound on a deeper level. desire to experiment, to break free from traditional structures, ultimately led to the birth of Gillsaw.
Although Gills had been a drummer, he ventured into sounds and writing that were unorthodox and put down the confines of the standard by creating and experimenting with aspects of metal and heavy industrial music far beyond percussion or rhythm.
The result has been a sonically driving and outside-the-box experience.
"From the beginning, Gillsaw has been about defying musical conventions. My goal is to create a sound that evokes unease, a sense of haunting and unsettling emotions. This emotional resonance is crucial for the music's message to land. Initially, my vocals were hesitant, but I've since embraced a raw, harsher approach. I also heavily utilize vocal layering to enhance the atmospheric and haunted quality of the sound. The evolution has been about pushing boundaries and becoming more confident in creating a truly unique and impactful sonic landscape," says the artist about the project.
