Conzemius Delivers a Lush and Vast Pop Release

A gorgeous new release from Conzemius comes in the form of flowing and lush soundscapes that feel like a cross between dream and alternative pop. As the songs unfold you get glimpses into the artist's personality and ability to deliver songs with a particular form of warmth.
Of The Water is a release consisting of three tracks and the first is the title track. This song definitely keeps you floating alongside it with beautiful keys and expansive synths that fill the atmosphere and create a space that you end up falling right into and easily getting engulfed by.
It feels great to do exactly that and this is the kind of music you listen to with headphones on so that you can soak in all the layers and textures that are happening throughout these songs.
This track is experimental and has a very vast underbelly to it along with drifty and dreamy vocals that wrap themselves around you and keep you right where they want to.
At times this reminds me of certain records from bands like Radiohead for example. You have that outside-the-box thought process and arrangement but they are still this element of color and catchiness amongst that floating edginess that most of these songs give off.
It's all quite beautiful and seems like each of the songs serve almost like a chapter in her life.
The second track called "Getting Closer" delivers more of that warm tonality and has a little bit more of a drive to give it a kind of cinematic style build which I definitely adored because it grabs your attention and makes you want to see where it's going.
I love the vocal approach on this because you get a grasp of some of that truth and honesty that she gives off and you still have a lot of that expansive undertone. There is a soiree of seemingly electronic and natural instrumentation that builds to a sort of climactic and more intense point towards the end section of the track but it all exhales back down again.
This song is followed by "You", which comes in with some experimental style synths and production but quickly whisks you away to another dreamlike soundscape and each of these songs gives off a mood.
There's an elegance and almost gracefulness to how these are performed and written but it has so much to do with the production and even the mix of these songs.
I don't always touch base on something like the mixes but with music like this, the mix is incredibly important to nail the aesthetic that you're going for.
In this case, you're invited to some personal attribute but also to a spacious and full-bodied, semi-alternative pop atmosphere and once you're in this atmosphere you don't want to leave.
It's outstanding the kind of emotion she can put behind these tracks and have that be expressed how she wanted it to be.
You can tell that this is an artist who puts pieces of herself into her music and a lot of the emotion and feeling behind them come not only from her vocals and lyrics, but also from the music produced.
There is a fluctuation and flow of energies and intensities that happen throughout this release and it's quite a beautiful thing to take that ride.
This was a bit of an escape and even though it was only three tracks and length, you have to reacclimate yourself back to reality when it's all over.
You feel like you stepped into someone else's mind and thoughts for a glimpse of time.
I loved how this came out and how Conzemius put together songs that are so expressive yet experimental simultaneously.
This one was hard to shake off but was fun to get washed away with.
Most certainly, you should listen to this release. Don't just go with one track. Listen to the whole thing and do it with headphones on because again, this is how you're going to soak in these huge layers of atmosphere that come at you throughout this record.
If you listen to it like that, everything swims around in the air that surrounds you and it's a great experience.
Take a deep dive into this one and see how it affects you.
